Matt Weiser started hiking and backpacking in grade school and has kept at it ever since. These days he tries to bring less gear and more experience to every hike. In addition to covering trails on foot, he covers news about the environment as a reporter for The Sacramento Bee newspaper. He adheres to the cyberjournalist's code of ethics.
